Galmozzi had worked with and, perhaps, participated in the founding of Cicli Gloria (owned by Alfredo Focesi) in 1922. His son Francesco expanded his father’s frame manufacturing business in the 1950s. He made frames for other brands as well as under his own name, in the workshop on Via Melchiorre Gioia in Milan. Galmozzi’s production was not large, but the bicycles were appreciated for their quality finish and performance. The collaboration with Gino Bartali began in 1957, when the Tuscan champion built the Bartali San Pellegrino team.
The bike is in truly exceptional condition, with only a few minor signs of aging. Original paint, decals, and chrome trim. The bike is equipped with the top-of-the-line components of the time. Campagnolo Gran Sport rear derailleur, derailleur, and no record high-flange hubs. Universal model 453949 brakes and brake levers. Magistroni crankset. Ambrosio Champion handlebars and stem. Scheffield pedals. Brooks saddle. Nisi rims. The bike has been fully overhauled and is ready to ride.
