Description

This post is also available in: itItaliano

Umberto Marnati began working at Legnano, with the qualification of mechanical toolmaker, in the immediate post-war period, immediately revealing himself as an excellent frame builder. He will work together with Umberto Mascheroni, forming a very close-knit pair of mechanics who will follow the Legnano team on the flagship. For many years they followed Alfredo Binda’s Italian teams at the Tour de France and the world championships. After Legnano Umberto Marnati worked for Bianchi and Legnano, in the meantime opening his own workshop. In 1970 he was joined by his son Daniele who, like his father, would follow the Bianchi, Flandria, Scic, San Giacomo and Sammontana teams as a mechanic. Cicli Marnati closed its business in 2016.

The bike presented is in excellent condition. Original paint, decals and chrome. It is set up with the Campagnolo Nuovo Record group. Universal 68 brakes and brake levers. Cinelli stem and handlebar. Cinelli Unicanitor saddle. Nisi Rims. The bike has been completely serviced and is ready to ride.
